Dingaleshwar Swamiji to Contest Independently for Dharwad Lok Sabha Seat

Fakira Dingaleshwar Swamiji of Shirahattii Bhavikya Math has announced his intention to contest as an independent candidate from the Dharwad Lok Sabha seat. The Swamiji made this announcement following a meeting with seers from various mutts and devotees at a press conference in Bengaluru.

Swamiji voiced criticism against Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, alleging bias towards the Lingayat community and claiming that Joshi had unjustly treated the community. With his decision to enter the political fray as an independent candidate, the Dharwad Lok Sabha constituency may witness a triangular contest. The Congress party has fielded Vinod Asuti, while Pralhad Joshi is the BJP candidate.
